Meubels voor Hope North Uganda

juli 2015

This mail first and foremost is to say that the visit of the flying carpenters has been the greatest and most successful vocational project that hope North has under taken in its more than 15 years of existence.

Since we started the Project Hope North, we have supported over 3000 young people whose lives were greatly affected by the two decades of war in Northern Uganda. We had so many success stories but we have never seen an instant success and transformation like this.

We have tried several mean to empower these youths but the visit by the flying carpenters was one that gave us the full and holistic rehabilitation.

The youths got vocational training while working with the team, the children got great physiological support when they realized that  they where loved and that they where also capable of making furniture that they can sell and get livelihood.

This project touched not only the needs of the project through creating sustainability, but also served the very needs and welfare of the children. the children got furniture and bedding's which has tremendously changed the lives of the children. I am proud to say that Hope North has changed for the better and all the assignments that the carpenters left behind, the children have taken full charge which to us is a great sign of transformation. We have been fully empowered.

If Africa is to develop, this is the kind of bilateral cooperation we need. the people need to be guided and supported to change their own lives.

Thanks you and I hope that every year we will have flying carpenters coming to Hope North to continue building on this great success. I hope to hear from you soon on how we can continue with this great work.

Thanks so much.
